How Often Should I Update My Virtual Try-On Profile?

Your VTS body scan stays accurate as long as your measurements stay consistent. Here is when to rescan and how the process works across shopping sessions.

One question shoppers ask after their first VTS body scan is how often they need to redo it. The answer is simpler than most people expect.

You Only Rescan When Your Body Changes

VTS body scanning extracts your actual measurements at the time of the scan. Those measurements remain accurate for as long as your body stays broadly consistent.

For most adults, a scan taken today will still be accurate six months from now. There is no expiry date on the measurements themselves.

When You Should Rescan

There are specific situations where rescanning makes sense:

Significant weight change. If your weight has changed by more than 5 to 7 kilograms since your last scan, a rescan will give more accurate measurements for your current body.

Post-pregnancy. Body proportions change significantly during and after pregnancy. A new scan after your body has settled will ensure accurate recommendations.

Major fitness changes. If you have significantly changed your muscle mass through training — gaining substantial muscle or losing it — rescanning ensures your measurements reflect your current physique.

Adolescent growth. For younger shoppers whose bodies are still developing, rescanning more frequently — every few months — keeps measurements current.

If recommendations feel off. If you receive a recommendation that does not match your experience when the item arrives, this is a signal that your measurements may have shifted and a rescan is worthwhile.

How the Rescan Works

Rescanning with VTS is identical to the first scan. You take two photos — front and side — in fitted clothing, and the AI extracts 20+ fresh measurements in 15 to 20 seconds.

There is no account or profile to update. Each VTS session on a product page starts fresh, which also means your data from previous sessions is never stored. Your photos are automatically deleted within one hour of processing.

Privacy and Your Scan Data

Because VTS does not store body scan data between sessions, there is no "profile" in the traditional sense to maintain or delete. Each scan is processed, the measurements are used to generate your recommendation, and the photos are gone within one hour.

This design is intentional. Your body data is yours. It is never stored, never shared, and never sold. VTS adheres to GDPR, HIPAA, SOC 2, and all applicable international data protection standards.

Does Rescanning Take Long?

The full rescan process — two photos plus 15 to 20 seconds of AI processing — takes under two minutes. For a shopper who uses virtual try-on regularly, this is a small investment for consistently accurate size recommendations.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to rescan for every purchase?

You can rescan for every purchase if you want the most current measurements. For shoppers whose bodies have not changed significantly, the previous session's recommendation logic will give consistent results without rescanning.

Can I use someone else's measurements for my scan?

No. VTS analyses your specific photos to extract your specific measurements. Someone else's measurements applied to your body will not give accurate recommendations.

Does VTS remember my measurements from last time?

No. VTS does not store measurements between sessions by design, for privacy reasons. Each scan is independent.

What if my measurements are between sizes?

The fit heatmap shows exactly how each size will fit. If you are between sizes, the heatmap will show which size gives the better overall fit for your proportions and the specific garment cut.
